This activity would be very helpful for students who are learning the prepositions "on, above, and below."
I know that you aren't working on other prepositions for this activity, but if you continued with different prepositions, there are two very fun songs on YouTube to help. Students love singing them!

I enjoyed the activity a lot. I would add to the firs bit of the exercise a space for wrtiting down sentences with which they show where specifically have they located their objects. I think some students would appreciate it.

This is a good reading exercise that hooks the students from the start and makes the prepositions work less boring.
